Good Morning September 11

James tells us to “confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”(5:16) This tells us several important things. First, that we are a body together. We are not lone Christians. We care for one another, and are responsible for one another. We are one family in Jesus. While we may not be used to confessing our sins to each other, it is important for maintaining truth and purity in the family. Repentance and hearing the words of forgiveness are cleansing and restoring. We are certainly aware of the need for prayer, and we should never be hesitant to ask for prayer, or to reach out a hand to pray for another. We come with this promise that the prayers of a righteous man, or woman, are powerful. We are righteous, not in ourselves, but in the shed blood of Jesus Christ. We can come to the Throne of Grace. He has made the way, and we never need to hesitate pouring out our heart to the Lord. This is powerful and effective in life. It is the strength of the Body of Christ.
