Good Morning September 23

There is an interesting interview in the latest AARP magazine. Yes, I’ve been on their list for the past twenty years! It’s with investor Warren Buffett who is now ranked the third or fourth riches man in the world. He was asked “How much do you leave your kids?” His answer, “The perfect amount is enough money so they would feel they could do anything, but not so much that they could do nothing.” Most people dream of having a large fortune. That is the drive behind lotteries and gambling. But those who have come into great and sudden wealth have usually found it a curse and not a blessing. Ever since we left the Garden God has charged us to work by the sweat of our brow to provide for our need and those of our family. Work is valuable for the satisfaction of our own accomplishments, and to provide help for others in need. There is always work to be done for the good of others regardless of age or condition. Intercessory prayer is one of our greatest works that knows no age barrier, and has nothing to do with material wealth. God never intended us to do nothing, but to trust Him for our needs, and to use our efforts for good.
