Good Morning January 28

In our hurry up world we want to see everything accomplished yesterday. Computers do computations at speeds of gigahertz per second, but this often feel too slow in getting the information we want. In our Christian life we would like to see things happening faster. We get frustrated if we don’t see answers to our prayers when we hoped. Changes in our own lives don’t seem to happen quickly enough. I think we have learned from Scripture and from life that God doesn’t work in our time frame. He works according to His divine purpose for each of us, and like any project, must do things in the proper order. Peter wrote in his epistle, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”(2 Pt.3:9) Sometimes God acts sovereignly for change. Most often He works step by step, His Spirit knowing what we need at the time, and dealing with first things first. He is always working for our good according to His perfect will. He asks us to trust Him, and give Him glory in all things.
