Good Morning June 6

In one of George MacDonald’s children’s books he told of a gracious and powerful king who had a young daughter. The daughter always referred to her father as “King Papa”. I’ve always thought that was a wonderful expression, and one that could be applied to our Lord. It acknowledges the authority of the position and comes to him with humility. While at the same time rejoicing in the close relationship with an word of deep love. We come to our Lord in the deepest respect and holy fear for He is our Creator. He numbers our days and holds our breath in His hands. Yet, we draw ever nearer to Him in love as our Redeemer who has given His life for us, and assures us of His eternal care. Our God comprises all these characteristics and more. He is One not to be trifled with or taken lightly, but the One who made us and loves us with an everlasting love. He is our King Papa.
