Over these summer months, there has been a real problem with deer being killed on the roads. Every time we go out, we are likely to see one or two by the roadside. They are used to running through the fields, but then they stray into places of danger and are killed. The same can be said for Christians. We live in a pagan world, with all manner of dangerous ideas and temptations around us. It takes great discernment to walk in the paths that are pleasing to God. Our safety is staying in God’s Word, and in fellowship with other believers. We are not exclusive from or better than any others, but we do seek a definite path of life that honors our Lord. And just as the roads can be deadly for deer, so the wrong path in life can be spiritually deadly for Christians.
