Good Morning January 12

Psalm 131 is one of the shortest and has always been a favorite of mine. “My heart is not proud, LORD, my eyes are not haughty; I do not concern myself with great matters or things too wonderful for me. But I have calmed and quieted myself, I am like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child I am content. Israel, put your hope in the LORD both now and forevermore.” There are so many questions in life. There are so many things to fear. This Psalm is not too simplistic for the complications of modern life. It puts our trust and our hope where it belongs. The humble child with its mother is secure. Even when the scraped knees and broken arms come, the child knows that the mother is there to heal its wounds and dry its tears. “O Israel, (you and me dear ones) put your hope in the Lord both now and forevermore.”
