Unfortunately, in our fallen world, guards are necessary people. There are guards at shopping malls; guards at banks; guards at gates of military bases, airports, and on and on. Because of our nature, corrupted by sin, guards, police, and armies are necessary to maintain order and keep us from doing wrong. We need a guard, also on our own lives. Scripture speaks of a guard for our feet, where we go; for our lips, what we say; for our eyes what we see; for our minds, what we dwell upon. We are in a fast paced world that lays many temptations before us, but God has not left us with out strength. His Spirit is ever present encouraging and fortifying us to guard our lives against all evil. His forgiveness is available if we fail, but He calls us to vigilance against all that would separation us from Him.
