Do you struggle for others? Paul wrote to the Colossian Christians of his struggle in prayer for those in the church. He prayed that “they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”(Colossians 2:1-3) This is a “struggle” or intensity of prayer to God on behalf of others, even ones he had never actually met. This is our desire as well. It is the effort we are to be about on behalf of those we know, or know of. The three things that Paul asked the Lord to provide are necessary for everyone the Lord lays on our hearts. We are to enter this same struggle in the intensity of our prayers. It is an effort that does bear fruit.
