Good Morning November 29

Jesus Christ is the heart and center of our faith. When Paul wrote to the Corinthian church he said, “I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.”(IC.2:2) Paul was a highly educated man. He could have expounded on the nature of other faiths, the history of their people, doctrines of the Scriptures, and so forth. But His message was centered in the truth that made sense of all the rest. Jesus Christ is God in human flesh. In Him the full grace of God is revealed in making atonement for the sins of all mankind. His crucifixion was no accident, or just being on the wrong side of the authorities. It was an intentional act of God’s love for the good of the people He created. It was the sole means of satisfying both God’s perfect justice, and perfect love. There is a place for our education and wisdom. They are God given gifts. But all must be centered in the living person of Jesus Christ. “…you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God–that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.”(IC.1:30)
