Good Morning March 2

During the Christmas season people talk about the feeling of peace and good will that surrounds that time. As soon as Christmas is over the Valentine cards and candy are in the stores, and the slogans say that love is in the air. These are nice events and times to celebrate, but their proclamation is very shallow. When an attitude only surrounds a time, or is in the air, it all blows away with the next wind of difficulty. The only love proclaiming event that is really lasting, took place on an ugly hill outside of Jerusalem, surrounded by an angry mob. The cruel cross gets none of the cards, candy, and gifts of the other events. Yet, it is the greatest possible proclamation of love. “God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”(Romans 5:8) It is this act of love that changes hearts, and begins to create a love inside that endures all adversity, and is changeless through all seasons.
