Good Morning March 21

In thinking about progress, and particularly in communication with the media, computers, internet, and the ever present Iphone, we need to exercise a great degree of discernment about what is good and what is not. I am especially concerned about our young people. I’m always confused about generation labels, but I think about our preteens, teens, and 20 somethings. They are in a media world saturated by so many messages, many of which, if not outright evil, are certainly not God-glorifying. They can’t be isolated. They hear, they share, they reinforce one another, often in wrong directions. I encourage all of us older ones to make them a specific object of our prayers, that God would somehow put a hedge of grace around them. And as we, parents, grandparents, and friends, have opportunities for conversation and influence that we seek to gently guide, and help to turn hearts more to the Lord. We are in a spiritual warfare. Our strongest weapons are God’s Word and our prayers. We must not neglect either one.
