Good Morning July 13

I have mentioned Psalm 8 in the past. It is one of my favorites. It came to mind again this morning. We have an above ground pool in our back yard. I went out early this morning to swim and exercise. It was completely quiet, no cars on the road, no one else out. I could look up at the infinity of blue in a cloudless sky, the beauty of some large trees near by, the other sights of nature surrounding me, Psalm 8 naturally came to mind. “O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Thy name in all the earth, who hast displayed Thy splendor above the heavens!” I had a similar sense when I visited Africa some time ago. The Milky Way was completely visible in the night sky. The variety and number of birds and animals was amazing. And the faith that God has kindled in hearts of people in the far flung places of this globe. “When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou has ordained; What is man, that Thou doest take thought of him? And the son of  man, that Thou dost care for him?” In all of our pursuits of this day don’t lose the wonder of what the hand of God has touched, including you and your own life. “O Lord, our Lord, How majestic is Thy name in all the earth.”
